This seminar was held simultaneously with the 20th Annual General Meeting of Eurocities, a forum at which several hundred mayors and elected representatives of the European cities met to discuss how the cities of the world and their organisations "open up to the world". This event provides a unique opportunity for PRO ACT to meet and work with the Asian cities eager to get involved in decentralised cooperation projects with their European counterparts.

Objectives:

• Define and set up pilot cooperation projects
• Get a better understanding of international donors’ mechanisms and management of urban projects
• Present what PRO ACT has already achieved in terms of understanding of European Union aid, especially the new Asia Pro Eco 2 programme
• Define possible interactions between post tsunami reconstruction projects in which the "The Asia – Greater Lyon Solidarity Group" participates and PRO ACT projects, likely to be supported by the EU and other donor agencies.
